Terms of Use

A simple agreement

These terms apply when you use Ritual. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Ritual.

Your account

You must be at least 13 years old and legally able to agree to these terms. Keep your device and sign-in details secure, provide accurate information, and tell us if you believe someone has accessed your account. You are responsible for activity through your account unless it resulted from a failure on our side.

Emails from Ritual

By creating an account, you agree that Ritual may send you a welcome email and occasional emails about product updates, habits, and offers. These product emails are optional, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any such email. We may still send essential account and security emails when needed to provide the service.

What Ritual provides

Ritual is a tool for building habits, planning routines, using Focus to limit selected apps, following progress, and connecting with friends. Features can depend on your device, iOS permissions, network access, or an active Ritual Plus subscription.

Ritual is not medical care or professional advice. Focus relies on Apple’s Screen Time frameworks and may not block every app in every situation. Do not rely on Ritual for an emergency, safety-critical task, or a result that requires uninterrupted service.

Your content

Your profile, habits, and other information remain yours. You give Ritual the limited permission to host, process, display, and transmit them only as needed to run the features you choose. You are responsible for having the right to share anything you add, including a profile photo.

Friends and respectful use

Use social features with care. Do not impersonate someone, harass people, send unwanted requests, upload unlawful or harmful material, invade another person’s privacy, or use Ritual to deceive or exploit anyone.

Do not attempt to bypass security, scrape the service, automate abusive traffic, reverse engineer protected parts of Ritual, or interfere with another person’s use. We may remove content or restrict an account when reasonably necessary to protect people, the product, or the law.

Ritual Plus

Ritual Plus purchases are processed by Apple and follow the price, trial, renewal, cancellation, and refund terms shown in the App Store. Subscriptions renew through your Apple ID unless cancelled in time under Apple’s terms. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple ID settings. Deleting your Ritual account does not cancel an App Store subscription.

Refund requests

If you’re not satisfied with Ritual, you may request a refund through the App Store at reportaproblem.apple.com. We support all good-faith refund requests and, whenever Apple requests our refund preference, we will recommend approval.

We may withhold our support where there is reasonable evidence of fraud, deliberate misrepresentation, falsified purchase information, or a deliberate pattern of purchases and refunds intended to obtain continued paid access without payment. Dissatisfaction with Ritual or previous refund requests alone do not constitute abuse.

Apple processes App Store refunds and makes the final decision under its applicable policies. Our recommendation does not guarantee approval. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights. If you need help with a refund request, contact hello@joinritual.co.

Referral reward

You may qualify for one year of Ritual Plus after 10 unique friends join Ritual through your personal invite link and at least 3 of those friends purchase Ritual Plus.

An invited friend counts only when they are a new Ritual user, use your valid invite link, complete account setup, and keep an account in good standing. A qualifying Ritual Plus purchase must be successfully charged and must not be a free trial, refunded, cancelled before payment, reversed, or charged back. The reward is added after eligibility is verified, is limited to one reward per person and account, has no cash value, and cannot be transferred or combined with another referral reward.

Self-referrals, duplicate or fraudulent accounts, misleading promotion, automated invitations, and other attempts to manipulate the programme do not qualify. We may withhold or remove a reward where these terms are not met. We may change, pause, or end the referral programme, but will honour rewards already earned under the terms that applied when eligibility was completed.

Changes and availability

We may improve, add, remove, or pause features as Ritual develops. We aim to keep the service available and your data safe, but no software is always uninterrupted or error-free. If these terms change materially, we will update the effective date and provide notice when appropriate. Continuing to use Ritual after the new terms take effect means you accept them.

Our responsibility

To the extent allowed by law, Ritual is provided as available, without promises that it will meet every need or produce a particular result. We are not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable loss caused by using or being unable to use the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited, including applicable consumer rights.

Ending your use

You can stop using Ritual at any time and delete your account in Settings → Profile → Delete account. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, threatens the service or another person, or must be restricted by law. Where reasonable, we will explain the decision.

Apple

Apple is not responsible for Ritual or for providing support for it. Your use of the iOS app is also subject to the applicable App Store terms and Apple’s standard end-user licence agreement.
